The Wii is a gaming entertainment center that allows the user to access video games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band that use a cordless guitar controller.

We all know that the Wii is a truly amazing and revolutionary addition to the gaming world since it gave us a lot of options when it came to motion-sensing controllers and games. It started to integrate physical activities with computer gaming at the same time.

Several controllers can be linked to the Wii to play the proper games, and similarly, all music aficionados will appreciate Wii Guitar Hero, which will enable you to have the ideal simulation with any guitar-based games as well.

The controller has multiple buttons on it and connects wirelessly with your Wii console to give you the right liberty to move and dance around while you are playing any musical game involving guitar playback.

You will be enjoying the perfect experience with the Wii guitar for sure. Yet, if the controller is not working out for some reason, that is a point to be worried about, and a few things that you can do to make it work are:

Dealing With Wii Guitar Hero Guitar Not Working

1. Check Batteries

The first thing that you will need to check if your Wii Guitar Hero is not working is the batteries on it. It is a wireless controller that requires a battery to connect to your Wii console and function properly.

If the batteries are weaker, the Wii Guitar Hero will stop operating, or it may not operate correctly, like in the case of a faulty controller.

Some of the buttons on the controller might stop working. So, you’ll need to check on the batteries, and if you believe they’re not charged properly, you’ll need to make sure you’re recharging or replacing them with new ones that have the correct charge, which will cure your problem effectively.

2. Reboot the Controller

Another thing that you might need to do is to check the Wii Guitar Hero and then reboot it once to make it work optimally for you. That is something pretty easy, and there is a power button on the Wii Guitar Hero. You just need to keep it pressed for 3-5 seconds until the lights on your controller start flashing.

Afterward, you will need to press it again to turn on the Wii Guitar Hero. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be linked to the Wii controller again in a few seconds, allowing you to have the correct experience you’re looking for with the controller.

3. Pair it Again

If you have checked the batteries and there is no such issue with the batteries on your Wii guitar hero, and you have it rebooted as well, the next thing that you will need to try out is to pair it again with your Wii console.

To do that, you will need to open up the controller settings on your Wii console, and unpair the guitar hero from there.

Afterward, you can keep the pairing button pressed on your Wii guitar hero until a prompt appears on your screen that says controller paired. That is the best way to get that sorted out and you will be able to make it work out perfectly after that without having to face any other issues with the Wii guitar hero anymore.

4. Check Button

You might be facing the issue that the controller’s fretting key is stuck.

To resolve the issue, re-calibrate the controller to ensure that the problem is with the actual button rather than the gameplay itself. If the problem is with the button, gently disconnect it and blow in the rear of the button and its point of contact on the neck to eliminate any dirt particles that may have accumulated beneath.

Please keep in mind that using cleaners, cleaning agents, or pesticides to clean the guitar controller may cause harm to your Guitar Hero Live controller.

5. Replace Your USB Receiver

If you were enjoying Guitar Hero Live and your guitar suddenly stopped playing, you can’t even re-sync the guitar since all four LED lights are blinking fast. It is an unusual problem that can occur when too many information packets are transferred to your USB receiver in a short time.

If this occurs, take the following steps: Turn off the Guitar Hero Live controller and console. Take your USB receiver out of your console. Reconnect the USB receiver in your console and restart it. Restart your game and re-sync your Guitar Hero Live controller.

6. Replace The Guitar Neck

If none of the buttons function, inspect the connections between the neck and the rest of the instrument. If it is unable to reconnect, the guitar sensor at the bottom of the neck may need to be changed. If the neck is certainly connected to the guitar, check to see if the controller is functioning.

7. Replace The Strum

If the game isn’t responding to your commands, then it’s probably because the guitar isn’t connecting to the console.

If the video game does not recognize the instruction when you strum, there may be a connection issue inside the guitar that has to be replaced. If the strum does not bounce after you strike it, then the strummer must be changed.

8. Replace Whammy Bar

If the guitar’s cable joining the whammy bar to the motherboard has become loose, causing the whammy bar to be unreliable; it may need to be reconnected or changed.

If the whammy bar is too loose, it should be fixed to increase resistance to its rotation. Remember that for reattaching the whammy bar, hot glue works well.

9. Get it Checked

If you’ve tried all of the troubleshooting methods given above and you’re still unable to get it to function, it’s possible that something is wrong with the Wii Guitar Hero and it needs to be examined.

So, it would be better to take it to an authorized Wii warranty center, where the techs will be able to look into the Wii Guitar Hero.

They’ll diagnose what the reason is that is causing your Wii Guitar Hero to not work. Afterward, you will be able to get the problem fixed for good and you are not likely to be facing any such problems with the Wii Guitar Hero not working again.
