Remembering Carrie Fisher Through “Princess Leia’s Theme”

John Williams captured everything special about writer and actress Carrie Fisher in his famous “Princess Leia’s Theme” from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Even though she has passed away, Williams’s composition is the sound that she will be remembered in her iconic role. Carrie Fisher died in December 2016 after a cardiac episode during a flight. She was aged 60 years.

Princess Leia’s theme is a serene melody using the French horn that provides a sense of yearning to the listener. Full of delicate, romantic, and unique motifs, it is the personification of Carrie which is how she will be fondly remembered.
