The 70 members of the orchestra took up their positions on the field at US Bank stadium within two minutes.

The orchestra played arguably the most famous piece of symphonic music, Beethoven’s Fifth, and went on to perform a special tribute to Prince with a rendition of “Purple Rain.”

Some of the musicians spoke afterwards about the importance of taking the opportunity to reach out to a new audience.
