Butterfly lands on flute player’s face during international competition

Wooed by the beautiful sound of Yukie Ota‘s flute during the Carl Nielsen International Flute Competition, a majestic butterfly wanted a front row seat.

So it did what butterflies do, fluttering its wings and landing directly on Ota’s nose.

The Japanese flutist wasn’t phased in the least, embracing the butterfly’s magnificent landing — only to usher it gently away as she completed her performance.
