The calculator treats BPM as quarter-note BPM. For meters with an eighth-note denominator, the bar duration is scaled by 4 divided by the denominator, so 6/8 at 120 BPM spans three quarter-note beats per bar.

When it comes to making a song play well, the first three seconds will tell if someone skims over the track or sticks around for the whole thing. For radio, we count these initial moments in beats and bars; on screen, we count them in cue points and frames. Most producers end up tripping themselves up bridging technical side with the musics natural structure.
