💡 Tension Formula: Tension (lbs) = (UW x (2 x L x F)^2) / 386.4 — where UW = unit weight (lbs/in), L = scale length (inches), F = frequency (Hz). A lighter gauge at the same scale length always means lower tension.
🎯 Gauge Selection Tip: If you tune down from standard, go up one gauge size to maintain similar tension feel. If you use a capo or tune up, go down one gauge. For every 2 inches of scale length difference, adjust gauge by approximately .001 to maintain the same tension.
