The Recital Preparation widget help organize your recital preparations. It has controls which responds to touch and mouse input as well as being controlled by certain key presses on keyboard. It monitors preparedness of up to 3 pieces including a timed dress rehearsal to gauge stamina.
There are three buttons per piece in main section of program that you can enter text into (e.g. Change Opening Piece to real name of sonata). The cue buttons has three positions; Memory, Recovery and Tempo. Tap on one of these and it will cycle through Fragile to Working to Ready. It then visually shows you what areas requires further focus.
How to Use the Recital Preparation Tool
Logistics and rehearsal management is handled by the side panel. Fill up readiness bar as you check off tasks such as packing your instrument. There is a non-stop dress rehearsal of whole show in simulator. It measures time and throws in some random disruptions for the student to recover from. Click Spotlight on weakest rehearsal cue to highlight a particular area of weakness. All pieces is automatically rated according to weakest skill, so you have a clear target for where to practice next. Or hit all to mark everything as ready for stage. Hit them all again to reset progress.
Use a mouse or keyboard shortcuts: hit R to raise the curtain and begin time; hit N while running to go to the next cue in playlist; hit F to end the set and lower the curtain. Pressing the rehearsal slate button called “Strike” wipes out all settings and starts you again from scratch. It would of retain the names of pieces so you can re-prepaer them. Press the top right hand button with a question mark in it labeled “Help,” which toggles explanation of how buttons work. On smaller screens, pressing the Fullscreen button will blow up the widget to give more space to work in.
Tap cue buttons and name each piece based off your current progress, then check off the backstage tasks to see your total preparation percentage. Raise the curtain to see how well the program stands up in pressure and use the spotlight feature to call out weak spots and fix them before actual performance. It naturaly makes the moddern student more comfortabley during a show.
