The Italian Music Term Quiz are an interactive way to practice performance and conducting terminology through interactive rehearsal exercises. Simply click on your mouse (or use computer keyboard) and give it a go. As you move forward, widget adjusts to match your pace. This makes it feel like a real rehearsal session that react to your decisions.
There is also a quick method of interacting with the quiz using your computer keyboard. For definition questions, simply choose an answer by pressing the numbers 1-4. For ordering tasks, move cards around using the arrow keys. To listen to the next cue, press N, and for the current musical marking, press H. On the conducting pad, the letter B (or space bar) will beat time. All these shortcuts is designed so that you can stay focused on the music while keeping your hands firmly on the keys.
How to Play the Quiz
At the top are setup controls that allow you to customize what you want to work on. You can choose adaptive mix or specific categories like Navigation, Dynamics, and Tempo. The other is the intensity setting which allow you to select from a full group practice through to a sectional run up to a more rigorus dress rehearsal. Then there’s the orchestra level slider which will allow you to control the volume of the synthesized audio feedback.
A prompt are on screen with current term and asks you to instruct. Sometimes there’s a multiple choice option, sometimes a card ordering task, and sometimes you’re asked to conduct using a conducting pad. A generated phrase matching the word is played back from the audio button; demonstrating how it should of articulated, at what volume, with what pulse. Listen carefuly, use this sound as a test of whether you’ve got it right, then go ahead and select an answer using your number keys, arrow keys, or conducting pad.
In the margin, instant feedback confirm you are correct or not and identifies where to make corrections. You’ll be able to see how you’re doing as you go along. The top row shows your overall score and your accuracy percentage. It also shows how many pencils you’ve had marked on you (sorry) and your current winning streak. The correction ledger logs all your missed words; tap that to revisit them and practice until they stick. Categories you get wrong most will comes up again and again in the adaptive system, so you can put your effort where it’s needed.
If you want to stretch your wings in a show-style setting, the seven-cue curtain run is designed just for you. Like a real show, this option runs right through a list of questions without stopping to set up the next one. Need some help remembering a particular term? Hit the correction ledger to see what was wrong and call it out yourself to really focus on your weak spots. The full screen toggle will shut off distractions so you can concentrate all your efforts on the controls and the score itself. Choose the category and lift the curtain to take center stage.
